Get ready for another Apple mobile launch. Apple today sent out official invites to media outlets today for its gala launch event for the iPhone 5S; the upgrade to the hugely successful iPhone launched last year. The event could also unveil the much anticipated plastic iPhone 5C for the cost conscious customers.
The event is due on Tuesday 10 September at 7pm local time (1pm ET, 10am Pacific) at the at the company’s Cupertino, Calif. headquarters, US. The smartphone giant’s invitation, include the headline, “This should brighten everyone’s Day”, confirming a new phone in the hugely-popular range will be unveiled.

This should brighten everyone’s day.
Please join us for a café breakfast and coffee bar on September 10 at 9:00 AM followed by an executive presentation at 10:00 AM.
This invitation-only event will be held in Town Hall at 4 Infinite Loop in Cupertino.
Details are thin, but Apple may provide a live stream of the press conference in Cupertino for those that can’t make it to the event to follow along.
Currently, there are almost no confirmed details about the follow up to iPhone 5, but few credible scoops suggested the device to pack an upgraded chipset (possibly A7 Soc), an upgraded battery capable of lasting more with heavy usage, fingerprint Sensor for additional security layer. It will feature the same metal construction as iPhone 5, and will house a dual LED flash component for better photos under low-light conditions.
The most recent report suggests that the iPhone 5S’ A7 chipset will be 31% faster than the iPhone 5 and will pack a dedicated motion tracking chipset for an upgraded camera.
Apple is also expected to launch a “gold” iPhone 5S that will feature a champagne-like coloring (possibly in128GB of native storage), and a gray or graphite version of the phone with black trim in addition to standard black or white. In total, iPhone 5S is expected to retail in four different colors and I would be surprised if any more colours turned up for this generation.
The iPhone 5C, a plastic-shelled, colorful version of today’s iPhone 5 is also expected to be unveiled by Apple during the event. If we consider all previous leaks, the iPhone 5C is apparently a medley of iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 5G and iPhone 5. In fact, Apple has fused the design elements from all three iOS devices and mashed them to create a new product – “iPhone 5C”.
The low-cost iPhone is reportedly manufactured with the high-quality polycarbonate plastic and is rumored to feature a 4-inch display screen (1136 by 640 ppi). Per leaked specs, the device runs a dual-core processor paired with 1GB RAM memory. It also packs a 1.2-megapixel front camera, an 8 megapixel rear camera (with 1080p video recording support) and a Siri voice assistant. This low-cost iPhone is expected to arrive in various color options such as green, blue, yellow, and red.
Both the devices will be released with Apple’s latest iOS 7 operating system in 16/32/64 GB storage capacities. iPhone 5S in Gold color may be offered with 128 GB exclusive storage capacity on-board.
Prices, on-sale dates and naming are likely to be disclosed September 10. Stay tuned!
