Part supplier sw-box has just posted replacement part of iPhone 5C Home Button Flex Cable Ribbon Housing. The part sells for a whopping $15 and is said to be compatible with iPhone 5C (Plastic model).
The shape of the iPhone 5C Home Button Flex Cable indicates there will be major redesigned home button in the model, despite many rumors saying that the model will adopt the iPhone 5′s internal components.
As seen in the photos, the cable is attached at the middle of the circular home button part while in iPhone 5; the cable runs from left hand side and takes a half-U-turn. Even the shape of the circular button appears differently in iPhone 5C part.
Although tech specs are yet to be confirmed, it’s likely the iPhone 5C will use essentially the 4 inch IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) display (1136×640 resolution at 326ppi), 1.2 GHz Quad Core A7 CPU paired with 2GB RAM assisted by PowerVR SGX 554MP4 GPU and a possible 8 megapixel snapper. The device will run on iOS 7.
When a company is marketing its product, it essential thinks about what they are saying and how their message will be perceived. If Apple uses the word ‘cheaper’, the people might perceive it as a low grade model which Apple marketing team will never do. Apple will never devalue their product by calling them “cheap” or by saying that you’ve got “rock-bottom pricing,” because doing so makes iPhone look, well, ‘low quality’. So the “C” designation would refer to the various color options available on plastic iPhone which will be competitively priced.
We have already seen the iPhone 5C in leaked photos, hands-on video and in multiple colors. While there’s no official word yet, Apple is expected to unveil the next generation iPhone and a lower-cost iPhone at a special event on September 10, followed by the launch on September 20.
