The Verizon-branded Samsung Galaxy Nexus has not been left out from the upgrade game! After Verizon’s tweet on Thursday that an Android 4.2.2 OTA would be coming soon to Galaxy Nexus, we can now confirm the 4.2.2 upgrade is rolling out to beta testers. You might not be able to update your Verizon Galaxy Nexus device to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean right away as the update is rolling out only to testers. If all goes well we could see this update headed our way soon.
An XDA forum user El Madhatter claims to have received a tester version of an OTA update from Verizon before they’re rolled out to the public to discover any major bugs inside. Per Madhatter, build is tagged as JDQ39 and brings the device up to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. The software update brings Galaxy nexus with a new bootloader, new radios and all the 4.2 goodies like quick settings, lock screen widgets, and photospheres.
We don’t have too many details about this latest build, but most likely its close to final and extremely stable. You can follow the action at the original XDA thread to see if that changes.
